A band I actually initally discovered through an H.P. Lovecraft connection in a Lovecraft guide I was reading sometime in my early teens, I wasn't really sure what to expect, or even what the hell Rock In Opposition was for that matter, but they pretty much instantly became a favorite. Basically it's avant garde chamber orchestra played with a rock backing in alot of instances though the influences are wholly classical.
Here's the lead off track "Dense" from their 1981 album Ceux du Dehors performed live in 2005. Its slightly less dark then the album version, but if you like Stravinsky, or Zappa's more outside compositions, you should enjoy this.
And even though I couldn't find a clip on youtube, La Musique D'Erich Zann is the Lovecraft inspired track that originally got me into them, and is EXCELLENT. They read the short story The Music Of Erich Zann and then improvised the whole piece on the spot in the studio.
Any other fans?

They're a 60's band not unlike The Strawberry Alarm Clock. Also, sorry I deviated from the original thread.
