I highly recommend this album if you want a little variety in your Rock music. If you want something a little different but don't understand Spanish there's just enough Espanol in all the right places so as to not make your head spin and if you don't understand Jazz but want a little taste to start things off, this album has a perfect pinch of it. Not a bad song on the whole bloody lot. This is their best album so far IMO and saw them switching from a more Tex-Mex/Rock/Country mix to a more raw sound with more percussive flavor, louder guitars, thicker bass, Jazz and a plethora of groove!

Was this before or after Kiko and the Lavender Moon album?

It's the album after Kiko (if you don't count soundtracks, etc.), there was 4 years between the two albums. I fing Kiko to be very overrated and the worst of their career.

Colossal Head was released in '96.
