the rest...
1. Steely Dan 2. Heart 3. Blue Oyster Cult 4. The Doobie Brothers 5. KISS - they were so important to my musical development I had to include them.

In my case it's more Stephen Stills being represented twice, but I definitely like both. In fact Neil and Crazy Horse just barely missed the list.

| I think Frampton is the only big one that used it regularly. For most of the others, it was either a one-time thing or just a dumb gimmick. | |

Those are the only 5 that come to mind! Mathias Jabs used it on The Zoo, which I would venture to say is a better song than "baby I Love Your Way"

| I like the way Wrathchild America/Souls At Zero used the talkbox. It was featured prominently on "Desert Grins" and "Never".

| Johnny Winter for sure. Don't forget SRV, Joe Bonamassa, Paul Kossoff, Peter Green, John Mayer, Billy Gibbons, Alvin Lee, Paul Butterfield...to name a few. | |

| To me "blues" and "blues rock" are different categories. | |

Personally I can't stand SRV at all. Alvin Lee is a good one, and I guess Paul Butterfield too. All those others are pretty firmly blues-rock though, which doesn't really count.

| I wouldn't say that...sometimes it's hard to differentiate.
I'd say that Peter Green is definitely a blues guitarist, SRV was a blues guitarist AND a blues rock guitarist, Johnny Winter I'm not really sure about. Billy Gibbons I would classify as blues rock.
Picking 5 is going to be a bitch, but I'm not really as familiar with the white guitarists, most of my blues listening dates from the 50s and 60s.

| I've only delved into blues rock guitarists, like Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore. Blues (and jazz to an extent) seems like a genre that is very difficult to "figure out", because there is so much output to dig through. | |
