Anyone hear the new COC yet?
I'm excited to hear it. Pepper is out and Reed Mullin is back in. This track sounds great to me....

I've listened to it a couple times on Spotify and it really doesn't do anything for me. "The Doom" is the best track.
Others might get more out of it, C.O.C. really doesn't float my boat any longer.

I had to download it from iTunes b/c I live in the sticks and when I went to sync it it disappeared and I got ripped off. I like it but sometimes I hear the "Strat sound" on some tracks and it's a little jarring coming from COC. I 'Your Tomorrow Pt. 1' from the Your Tomorroe EP better than the album version.

C.O.C. have been a fave of mine since high school, so I get stoked anytime they put an album out, so this was cool. Upon my first listen to it I was a little disappointed, I really like Peppers vocals and thought Mike was trying to hard to sound like Pepper but it's kinda weak, maybe if Woody sang some tunes on the album it might have balanced out, but musically this is just bad ass, like I said on another thread, I miss Pepper in the group, but it's nice to hear the original line up again, and it's not your Animosity sound, they have really changed, you can really hear the influence Pepper brought to the group whether you like it or not it's very present even without him. I got the Deluxe Edition with two bonus tracks, there good but nothing to cream your shorts over, but more C.O.C. is always good.

C.O.C. has always been real hit and miss for me. I may give this a spin later. The last one I really dug was "In The Arms Of God".

Me too.
I like about half of Blind, most of Deliverance, about 4 songs from Wiseblood, 2 songs from America's Volume Dealer and about half of In The Arms Of God.

Outside of In The Arms Of God, Eye For An Eye, Animosity, and Technocracy I still like ok. Blind I also dig about half off, the others I never listened to all the way through, because what I did jam did nothing for me.

I listened to In The Arms Of God about a month ago. I haven't heard the other albums in several years. C.O.C. falls into my ever-expanding list of bands I "used" to dig but who I feel I've heard enough of at this point in my life.

Nothing at all wrong with the thread. I really wanted to like the new album.

Yeah Spec, I wouldn't worry so much. Hell, I didn't even listen to it yet. Pepper being out even intrigues me a bit.

Oh, I'm not worried. I'm just sayin' I suppose my tastes are different than the average bear. We all have our preferences.

I don't think your tastes are that odd, in fact compared to mine they are probably quite normal.
I'm just not feeling like I have much to offer these days, especially since metal/hard rock is becoming less and less interesting to me outside of a small handful of bands. It's been fun revisiting this music over the last 4 years, but I can tell I'm ready to move on.

As for COC this is the best thing they put out since Wiseblood, I think. AVD and ITAOG kinda left me flat.

I'm going to give this new one a listen again, with my mood swings it's quite possible that it will hit me differently in the right frame of mind.

Regardless, I like everything C.O.C. has put out I think every album has some great songs on them.

When I heard Pepper was out, I kinda lost interest in the band. I listened to the new album once when it was streaming for free and what I heard wasn't bad, but it didn't exactly re-kindle my interest either.
I may go back to it someday though. Other bands have my interest at the moment.

Scion Audio/Visual, (a.k.a. Scion A/V), the in-house record label and lifestyle marketing division of the Scion marque produced by Toyota Motor Corporation for the North American market, will release the new EP from Raleigh, North Carolina legends CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. Entitled "Megalodon", the effort will feature "five heavy tracks." It's tentatively scheduled to be released on November 13.

If I can scrape together enough money for a concert ticket I might be seeing COC in December, they are playing "The Power Of The Riff" concert here in LA. The headliners are High On Fire and Sunn O))).
