Never been a Rush fan boy, but I will be picking it up on release - this one seems more interesting top me than anything they have released in years. This tour will also be my first Rush gig, so looking forward to it and I want to learn the songs they will play (I am guessing they will play a good chunk of the new album)

Rush is one of those few bands that has remained with me non-stop since I was 10 years old...through all their different eras...through my numerous forays into other styles of music...I always come back to them and probably enjoy them more now than ever.
I heard a few tracks from Clockwork Angels at a friend's house today, all very good songs. They don't sound like they are looking back at all, they sound like they are still moving forward.
How many bands can say that after 38 years of recording?

Clockwork Angels will be released in 24bit/96khz flac files on HDtracks. That's most likely the version I'll get.

REALLY looking forward to this one. I haven't listened to anything from it just so when I DO hear it on Tuesday it's a fresh listen. I'd also like to read the companion novel.

"The Garden" is an instant Rush classic and also one of their all-time best ballads. The 16-piece string section is arranged very nicely. Lifeson plays a beautiful solo, Geddy puts in a gorgeous performance (his voice has aged very gracefully) and Neil keeps it subtle.
I've played this song about 10 times in the past couple days, I just can't get enough of it.

I really dig Clockwork Angels, I knew it'd be good but this exceeded my expectations. This might be my album of 2012...

I listened to the single Headlong Flight again today, and I'm still disappointed with it. Just doesn't sound like Rush to me.
Well, how wrong was I? This album has shaped up to be one of my favorite albums I've heard so far this year. I think my low expectations influenced how much I enjoyed it.

I wasn't that crazy about Headlong Flight when I first heard it, but once you hear it "in context" with the rest of the album it works beautifully. It's a fantastic album and even better if you listen to the whole thing in order.
I've also gone back and listened to Snakes & Arrows a few time recently and my appreciation for that record continues to improve as well.

I'm in the middle of jamming Vapor Trails now and although I've always liked it a lot it really struck me all the more. 'Secret Touch' was a song I wasn't too crazy about but something resonated w/me this time around...
