I love the album and it is a huge improvement over the original releases 'Cry of Love' that was released in 1971.
It is interesting that in the three short years Jimi Hendrix's music changed and morphed from 'Are you Experienced?' to the r 7b soulful 2nd LP 'Axis; bold As Love' to electic 'Electric Ladyland' to what have been with 'First Rays' where he embraces all the styles and at the same time seems to be moving forward.
Also the album has one Jimi Hendrix's more touching ballads, 'Angel' dedicated to his mother, a woman he barely knew.
I would love to have seen what direction Hendrix would have taken.
IMO the death of Jimi Hendrix was the biggest loss of any musician in the rock world.
