It's been 14 years now since QOTSA's debut album was released...I'm old.
Love this live clip, Josh has such an AWESOME guitar tone on here...and QOTSA love to improvise.

I like Homme's guitar playing but his singing not so much, especially on TCV.

I didn't find anything interesting about TCV, but I love me some QOTSA

Same hare man, the only thing I liked about TCV was Jones' playing. I should try to remove the vox from that album and make it an instrumental one.

TCV?
I recently re-discovered the Queens. I bought Songs for the Deaf as a new release, but after the novelty wore off, I kinda moved on. It was only a few months ago that I revisitied that album and it sparked my interest in the band.
I've since collected up the rest of their discography, but it's gonna take some time before it all sinks in. Lots going on there with their music.

Oh yea. Duh. I like them too. I think that's what kinda got me thinking of QOTSA. I got their album, which reminded me to break out Songs for the Deaf and give it a fresh spin.

the debut Queens Of The Stone Age album has recently been reissued, so it's easily attainable again.
There is also a deluxe edition of Rated R available with a ton of bonus tracks (including some stellar cover tunes)

I lucked out and got the British 2-disc import version of Rated R on ebay for a song. I believe some of the tracks on that 2nd disc ended up on the new expanded version.

Supposedly there will be a new QOTSA album in 2012, it's been quite awhile since Era Vulgaris and I'm jonesing for some new tunes.

Era Vulgaris and Songs For The Deaf are some of my favorite albums of the last decade. Never liked their first few albums though. So I guess they're hit and miss for me, but when they hit, they hit hard.

The first 2 albums are amazing, IMO. After that they're hit or miss for me.

Hey Spec, how's it hanging?
I still haven't gotten fully on board with QOTSA. I've got all their albums, but not all of them click with me. Still need to spend more time with 'em, but I think they'll fall into the hit-or-miss category with me for now.

I like all their albums, but I have to be in the right mood for them. Not a band I pull out on a whim, but about once a year I get a jones for them and will spin all their albums.
It's cool to have certain bands "on reserve" like that when the mood strikes.

I think it's about time for me to tune in to some KLON Radio...
