Who else here likes Riot? Fave albums, etc? I've got all their albums and I feel a Riot kick coming on.

I only have Thundersteel, but it is indeed one kickass album!

Yes, that is a kick ass album. Thanks for posting, since this thread was so dead I forgot I posted it.

I've been a Riot fan since 1983 when my friend from Junior High played "Fire Down Under" and the "Riot Live" EP for me after taking a few too many bong hits. I've loved them ever since.
Fire Down Under is my all-time favorite, easily. There's a "magic" to that record that I've never quite been able to put my finger on, it sounded like a classic the very first time I heard it.
Riot Live is actually the best example of the Rhett Forrester band, though Restless Breed also has some killer tunes on it that aren't on the live performance.
Thundersteel and beyond is really a completely different band, essentially having nothing musically in common with the earlier incarnation. Don't get me wrong, I love Thundersteel, but that's really "Riot II" in my opinion.

Hmmmm...I need to look into that kinda stuff on Riot more. I mean, I jam them but I never paid attention to the line-up hanges, etc.

The only remaining member on Thundersteel is Mark Reale the guitarist. The rest of the band from the Fire Down Under era weren't involved.

After hearing their other albums, I have to say Thundersteel pales in comparison to Fire Down Under and Rock City.

Fire Down Under is the only album I have by them. It's a downright bitchin' album, although it never really interested me enough to get their other stuff.

I'd give Rock City a try, it's pretty similar in style to Fire Down Under. The song Overdrive is one of my absolute favorite Riot songs.

If you like Rock City then you should love Narita, a much better album (at least in my opinion).

I like Narita, but I prefer Rock City. Opinions are bound to differ, though.

There is an excellent story about the early days of Riot and their streak of bad breaks in Classic Rock Magazine (the one with ZZ Top on the cover).

So I'm finally digging into Riot's vast back catalog thanks to Spotify. For years the only album of theirs that I owned was "Thundersteel," which I liked well enough but never really understood what all the whoop de doo was about.
So I gave "Fire Down Under" a whirl and WHOA! Okay, this is more like it. Listening to "Rock City" right now and that's up my alley too. So now I'm having one of those "Where has this band been my whole life?" moments. Better late than never, eh??

Damn! Fire Down Under, Restless Breed and Narita would be my first picks.

Thanks to Spotify and YouTube I've been digging "Fire Down Under," "Born in America" and "Narita" by Riot thus far. "The Privilege of Power" did nothin' for me though. I guess the earlier stuff is more up my alley.
I've got some Riot CDs to buy when I get some $$.

I really don't listen to Riot post-Born In America. By the time Thundersteel came out the only remaining member was Mark Reale and I really wish he had just changed the name of the band at that point.

Well, it took more than a year since I last posted in this thread, but I finally got my first Riot on CD today (Fire Down Under). Looking forward to cranking that one at appropriately obnoxious volume on my way to work in the AM.

I haven't listened to Riot in a long while, but the demo of Medicine Man with Harry Conklin popped up in my shuffle the other day and made me think about listening to them again. I'm definitely gonna have to now that this thread's been bumped.
