| Yeah, when I first heard it I didn't believe it was Rod Evans on vox b/c he sounded Southern in his delivery. | |

| I love 'Come Taste the Band' a very different album then anything that came before and after, and Tommy Bolin is one hell of a guitarist | |

Morse is closer to Bolin than Blackmore, since they both came from jazz fusion backgrounds.

100% agree with your statement and I also think the soul/funk elements that Hughes added to the mix worked very well with Bolin

| P.A.L. was: Ian Paice on Drums Jon Lord on Keyboards Tony Ashton on Vocals Bernie Marsden on Guitar Paul Martinez on Bass
I take it no one really digs the P.A.L. vid clips, it really is some good stuff, too bad they never put out anything else.

| Missed this thread!!!! Manny hooked me up with some DP sample cd's so I could get a good overview. I was surprised at how much I liked the CD's, especially the Morse line up! | |

| The lineup with Morse is one of the most consistent bands for live concerts, I have yet to hear a concert recording that I haven't really enjoyed. I also saw them on the Bananas. | |

a few live Deep Purple DVD's This album (Live At Olympia '96) is my favorite live recording of the Morse/Lord lineup, simply flawless. Running a close second is the Montreux Anniversary concert from 2006 (They All Came Down To Montreux) which features the Morse/Airey lineup.

| Well, until today I wasn't Deep at all, but I got me an uber cheap used copy of the DEEPEST PURPLE compilation from GoHastings.com this week, so my DP journey is beginning anew... I haven't owned any Purp since I had PERFECT STRANGERS and MACHINE HEAD on cassette ages ago. I've already jammed "Smoke on the Water" and "Black Night" for my kids while we drove to the store a little while ago. | |
