Ah Ambrosia, another kick ass Prog band that started out Prog but went in a more commercial direction. Too bad because their first two albums (S/T & Somewhere I've Never Traveled) are some of the best Prog has to offer.
Thoughts?

I've been checking this band out a lot recently. Their early, pseudo-proggy stuff doesn't do much for me, and I actually really prefer their more "commercial" stuff. For some reason, the soft rock vibe just seems to work with them very well. They had fantastic harmonies, which seems to be a lost art nowadays.

Harmonies are a lost art these American Idol, The Voice and whatever-sing-y show, we'll fix it in pro-tools days. It's every singer for themselves.....
Oh yeah........... They do have GREAT harmonies. Even the poppy songs that I do not like, I sit there and just listen to their voices..... Not many bands can catch your attention like that.

Porcupine Tree has lovely harmonies, of course Wilson is influenced by all these 70s bands so it comes naturally.

I just meant in commercial music. Those harmonies on Stupid Dream are amazing!!!!! As well as the use on albums after it.
