Getting out of the ghetto...

I'm sure I've probably mentioned that I live in a fairly rough section of Los Angeles (just a couple miles away from South Central), when i first moved here I didn't have time to look around much and I had a limited budget to find an apartment...and shady neighborhoods are always affordable. But thankfully at the end of October I'll be leaving the drug dealers and crack whores behind...

I'm moving in with some good friends, nice large apartment in East Hollywood (just south of Los Feliz) a half block from Melrose Ave. I'll have my own bedroom and bathroom, plus a nice balcony with a view of the downtown L.A. skyline. The upscale hipster neighborhood of Silverlake is just down the street with lots of nice restaurants and clubs. It will be so nice to be able to go out and take walks in the neighborhood without looking over my shoulder all the time. Plus for the first time in over a year I'll actually have a kitchen (my current apartment is a bachelor and all I have is a microwave, half fridge and a hot plate).

Living in this neighborhood has been fairly depressing, I'm hoping the upgraded environment will make life more pleasurable. I love the city, I just don't love the section I'm currently living in.

I know them very well, they used to live in the same building that I do now, we hung out all the time. It'll be fine.
