Here's a little starter list of albums, good places to start for these specific artists. I tried to find players with a variety of styles.

I'm gonna give that Monk set a shot. 5 albums for under $10 bucks new, how can I go wrong? That should fix my itch for a little while.

I don't have the time, room or, more importantly, the funds to get into the jazz genre whole hog as much as my love for rock & metal, but I'm finding myself listening to more jazz when I'm sitting late at night after the kids are in bed and I just want some quiet, instrumental stuff.

You should definitely enjoy those Monk albums.

I highly recommend those "Original Album Classics' series, they are all the remastered Columbia/Legacy titles but in uber-affordable format.

My Monk set arrived today. Can't wait to bust it open. I usually only play ear-splitting metal at work to keep co-workers and interns away from me, but I might have to give one of these a spin.
