| The thread title speaks for itself. What's that one band that you really shouldn't like, but you just do. I'd have to say mine would be White Lion. They're about as "poseur" as it gets, but there's something about them that I really like. Come to think of it... I like a lot of the so called "un-trve" metal, ie. Winger, Warrant, and Europe. So I'm a sucker for pop-metal; bite me. | |

| Fiona Apple. Her cds look kinda outta place amongst the metal, but I like her. She's angry. | |

| The Cure, but I don't know if they fall into "guilty pleasure" category. | |

| Much farther removed from pop-metal, two other bands I enjoy are The Police and Hall and Oates. | |

| "guilty pleasure artists" only exist if you give a shit what other people think about your musical tastes. I could care less, so I have no guilty pleasure artists. | |

I like both bands as well but I really dig The Police. The debut is aces.

| I love old Hollywood musicals, I guess that is laughable to many, but I grew up watching them and it also made it really easy to get into mainstream jazz later because I already knew most of the "standards" that people later improvised over.
You can really only catch the humor of Miles Davis taking something "stuffy" like Surrey With The Fringe On Top and making it hip if you are already familiar with the original version (from Oklahoma if anyone is wondering).

| I have a weakness for a good amount of modern pop (I've got a few tunes from Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, etc.). I know it's crap, but anyone with a soul can't resist a good hook.
Other guilty pleasures include: pop-punk and 70's cheese like Barry Manilow and John Denver.
