Any Fans? As a die-hard Trekkie I had to get this on DVD, it features the original Star Trek characters sans Chekov and ran from Sep. '73-Oct. '74. with a total of 22 episodes.

I remember watching it when I was a kid but haven't seen it since. Might have to look it up on Netflix and see if they have it for rent.

Same here... watched them when they aired, but that was about it. Only things I remember-

they did another tribbles ep

they got to have alien crew members... BEM the Edoan and I think they had a Caitian on the bridge staff too.

they had the ep that established Robert April as the first captain of the Enterprise

they had that aquashuttle

The episode where "Satan" said he was always misconstrued as an evil guy and he's really good is trippy.

I used to love the animated series but I only saw a handful and unit the DVD was released I had no idea it had only lasted one season.

Never saw it, the only Star Trek I liked when I was younger was The Wrath Of Khan. Star Wars held much more interest.

Ditto. As I said in another thread, I was a "Star Wars" kid, not a "Star Trek" kid.

I don't mind "Trek," I've seen most of the films but I can count the # of TV episodes I've seen (of ALL the "Trek" series) on one hand.

That said, I'm sure I must've seen bits/pieces of this animated series years ago. One of my buddies who was a huge Trek fan bought a bootlegged VHS of the entire series at a comic book convention back in the late 80s and he was over the moon about it, I was like "Um... good for you, I guess." Haha.

I just watched a few episodes on DVD that I returned from the library, the stories are not bad, and it seems like the show was trying to appeal to both kids and die hard adult fans of Star Trek, but the animation is so primitive!

On the plus side it was cool that most of the original cast came back to do the voices of their characters

Too bad this only lasted 1 season, it was a cool series and you can so so much more in animation then in live action anyway, but the stories actually held there own pretty well in the whole of the Star Trek universe, and there were some animated stories that were better than the live action, it was cool seeing Uhura as acting captain in one episode, seeing a back story in Spocks youth, a giant Spock and there dealings with Satan himself? overall a great series a must have for Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike.
