| The solo on NEM sounds just like Kirk, unless you mean the acoustic one. James is a bad ass acoustic guitar player. | |

| James plays the electric solo on Nothing Else Matters. Watch the video.

| I think a fair match would be:
Eric Clapton vs. Rory Gallagher
What do you blokes think? Who's the better?

| I"ll go with Rory, the only Clapton I really enjoy is "Blind Faith" and "Cream".

| Wow, this is a tough since I'm a casual fan of both at best, and that's being pretty generous. Based on what I actually know though, Gallagher. | |

| DC, you should give Irish Tour '74 a chance for starters... | |

| I'm not familiar with Rory at all, so I can't pick in this one. | |

Yes I agree 100% that is one worth having for sure. I've added it to my list, I'll probably download it later on tonight, might be a little while before I actually have a chance to listen to it.

For me it's Andy no contest. Not even close.

| I've never really liked U2. So Andy Summers wins by default, I suppose. | |

| I much prefer Andy Summers, but I think The Edge gets a little too quickly dismissed as an "effects guy", there is more there if you pay attention.
The Edge also seems like a really cool guy, watch the film "It Might Get Loud" with him, Jimmy Page and Jack White.

| With both of these, I don't know anything outside of the radio hits... but based on that only, I'd go with Joe Walsh (I'm also semi-familiar with James Gang).
Though, I do love the shit out of the song "Layla", but that's mainly due to Duane Allman.

And Frampton gets dismissed as being a lame soft-rock pretty boy, but he rocked the house in Humble Pie. I'm going with Frampton for my choice Also neither of them were on Layla

| I'll pick Joe primarily for his songwriting ability and his amazingly catchy riffs.
