A classic album is remastered. GREAT! But half of the album is bonus tracks. To me that spoils the original album's flow. In fact I highly dislike bonus tracks on a reissue. I would much rather have a compilation of the bonus tracks as a seperate release. What are everyone's opinion on bonus tracks?

I like it alot on the Japanese release where there's one or two extra tracks, because usually they go with the album. Other then that though, they should be on a seperate disc. Just like Castle did with those Iron Maiden two-discs. Because, you are correct sir, it does mess with the album's flow.

I don't mind bonus tracks, especially if the songs are from the same sessions as the album. Porcupine Tree also releases a second disc with their extra tracks so they aren't on the same disc as the original album.

I do understand what you mean about interrupting the flow, but I lean on the side of getting more music.

As long as they are AFTER the original album tracklisting otherwise it fucks up the flow

I'd like if they were on separate discs from the original b/c it does mess up the flow and it pisses me off to have to re-buy an album for bonus tracks, that's why nowadays I just pirate a lot of stuff. I think bonus tracks should be reserved for die-hard fans who'd dig a box set w/more unreleased tunes than the same ones we already have.

Yeah I agree Bonus Tracks should be put on a second disc, but like S.D. said "I lean on the side of more music" just as long as it doesn't mess with the original set.

Bonus Tracks should either by on a separate disc or better yet released on its own and stop trying to get me to buy the same fucking album again!

I don't mind bonus songs at the end of the album. If I haven't bought the album before that makes it even cooler.

I will, though, insert the songs if they were originally supposed to be on there, but the label made them dump them.

One that bothers me is the reissue of The Number of The Beast that sticks "Total Eclipse" into the original album...they should have included it as the last song on the disc.

That one doesn't bug me, but then again I think it should have been included on the original release

I like when they include a few B-sides or maybe some demos. Those are interesting to hear.

But I hate when they tack on radio edits or censored versions of songs that are already on the album and expect to pass those off as legitimate bonus tracks.

It bothers me because of where they placed the song, I had listened to that album about 1000 times on vinyl and knew it that way, then that CD reissue REALLY messed with my head when it was released, it never felt right.

I re-burned the disc and moved that track to the end (and put 20 seconds of silence at the beginning of it so it didn't start immediately afterward).

I like 'em if they are rare b-sides or stuff from hard-to-find eps. With a few exceptions, I don't care much for live tracks or half-assed demos.

I rarely re-buy albums I already have just for bonus tracks anymore these days. But if I don't own it and have a choice between original or with bonus tracks, I'll usually go for the bonus version. More bang for the buck.
