(Thanks for the idea Chewie!)
Pretty self explanatory, what are your favorite prog rock epics? I'll have to list my Top 5:
1. Yes - Close to the Edge
2. Pink Floyd - Dogs
3. Tie Between Rush - 2112 / Rush - Cygnus X-1 Book 2
4. Yes - Gates of Delirium
5. Van der Graaf Generator - A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers

Pink Floyd - Echoes (from Meddle) Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother Suite Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick Jethro Tull - A Passion Play Nektar - Remember The Future Camel - The Snow Goose Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere But Not Here Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize
Many more will come to mind later I'm sure.

I like all three of these, but I prefer the Live at Pompeii version of Echoes to the studio version. And Tab in the Ocean by Nektar is great long track too.

I'd like to add Tales from Topographic Oceans to my list now. That album is killer when I'm in the mood for it.

After today, I'm gonna have to add "Mei" by echolyn to the list of amazing epics.
And this'n isn't prog rock, but it's a fantastic extreme prog metal epic:
I know I've gone on about this band here, to little or no response, but I like them and I'll continue to post them until I get complaints otherwise.

Frankly, it's hard to top Thick As A Brick. I love Cygnus X1 and Supper's Ready but Jethro Tull holds the crown.

One I've been listening to relentlessly lately is Yes's "Heart Of The Sunrise". I'd always liked it, but it's really grown into one of my favorites from them. Somehow 11 minutes manages to feel too short, which is pretty damn impressive. The opening guitar riff is also incredibly fun (and surprisingly easy) to play.

I've been revisiting Yes a bunch recently, and it's weird to think that it's already been three years since I really started getting into them (and prog in general). I kind of miss being really active on here and HoM.

I somehow missed all this. All great stuff up there, I'd add Eloy's Ocean album, Camel's Nimrodel/The Procession/The White Rider, and Dream Theater's Mind Beside Itself trilogy.
