Subject: Cirith Ungol, any fans? Tue Feb 28, 2012 7:38 pm
I decided to jam this on Spotify because I'd never heard a full album from these guys, and I gotta say it's some doomy deliciousness with some awesome (albeit strange) vocals. Some songs are very Sabbath-y, while others are full on traditional metal with galloping riffs. I've heard their earlier albums are better, but alas Spotify doesn't have them (go figure ).
Oh, and there's an awesome cover of Arthur Brown's song "Fire" on here that kicks some serious ass!

They're a great NWOBHM band. Maybe a little over praised now a days, but still pretty good.

This is one of those bands I used to see advertised in metal mags all the time back in the 80s, but I actually never met anyone that owned any of their albums. To this day I still don't think I've heard a single song.
A discog thread would be cool, a good excuse to check them out all these years later.
