Any other fans of this great B-movie company or it's predecessor Empire Pictures? For awhile they were my favorite film company with all their great early 90's/Late 80's releases like PUPPET MASTER, BAD CHANNELS, TRANCERS, SUBSPECIES, etc. Not to mention RE-ANIMATOR, FROM BEYOND, and GHOULIES from the Empire days.
Any other fans?

Yaaaaay! I used to rent anything with Charles or Albert Band's name on it. We already talked about ROBOT JOX in another thread, but how'bout DEMONIC TOYS? (my all time fave of theirs...the writer went on to do BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT believe it or not!), or Jeffery Combs as DR. MORDRID...ahhh, those were the days.

Demonic Toys is another of my favorites, just didnt mention it right off because I wasnt sure how many people actually saw this stuff, that jack in the box is one of the best things Ive ever seen in a movie. Dr.Mordrid was a great one too, though I havent seen in awhile. Ah yes, I remember Surrender Cinema quite well, Femalien is a great movie .
Subspecies is a good series, but I only remember the first 2 clearly. Those are at the end of the set, so it's gonna take me a bit to get to those.

If memory serves, "Dr. Mordrid" was originally intended to be an adaptation of the "Dr. Strange" comic book, but the deal with Marvel Comics for the rights to the character fell thru, so they just changed the name and a few details in the script.
I remember watching "Dr. Mordrid" and thinking to myself "This all seems so familiar somehow."
"Demonic Toys" was what got me on the Full Moon bandwagon originally. My friend and I rented it thinking it was going to be terrible and something we could drunkenly laugh at, but by the end of it we were like "That kicked ASS! Let's watch it AGAIN!" hahaha. The malt liquor probably had a lot to do with that. Or perhaps the presence of Tracy Scoggins.
"Dollman Vs. Demonic Toys," though... not so much.

Demonic Toys is probably my second favorite next to Puppet Master from that original run of early 90's films he did. The sequel is much like what they did with Robot Wars though, they wrote a movie really fast to conjoin two series they had going on and did a bad rush job at it.
Speaking of Dr. Strange, I would love to see that old tv special they did back in the 70's, CA and I were talking about it the other night.

Yo, DC -- you seen the trailer for "Demonic Toys 2" yet?
Found this in the On Demand list on my cable TV the other night. Was going to order it but when my wife watched the trailer she sez "Uhhhh, no." Haha.

Actually, I think that looks pretty cool, especially after Full Moon's own flop with Dollman Vs. The Demonic Toys, and then that outside company blowing it even worse when pitting them against Puppet Master.

I thought it looked pretty cool too, unfortunately my wife doesn't share my enthusiasm for Tha Mighty Cheezwhen it comes to movies so I had to pick something we could agree on (which ain't easy - wimmen folk is too damned picky when it comes to movies! Haha)
So I'll have to try and catch "D.T. 2" some other time.

I literally can't remember the last time I watched a Full Moon film. I've been trying to figure it out but it's gone from the transom of my mind.
Possibly even back around the time of The Pit & The Pendulum.....

Hey DC -- you'll never guess what I found. I was rootin' 'thru some of my old VHS tapes last night and wouldja believe I still have ROBOT JOX? I was so stoked when I found that, I actually did a little happy dance. I taped it off of HBO years and years ago. (Yea, I was one of those guys who taped every damn movie that came down the pike back then.) I had no idea that I still had that one, as I lost a whole shitload of my VHS stock in the late 90s during a basement flooding incident and assumed that it had been tossed after that tragedy. (Damn hurricane... grrrrr!)
I am definitely gonna watch it as soon as possible!

I couldn't resist, I threw on ROBOT JOX tonight... and it still pretty much kicks mucho giant robot sized ass! Seriously, other than some laughable green-screen obviousness, the movie holds up surprisingly well.
Hail Achilles!!!

You guys are a bunch of nerds, yeah Full Moon Pictures had some bad ass, cheesy as all hell movies that are just great to watch, I really liked the Puppet Master movies, Robot Jox? I was just telling my wife about that movie the other night, she's so secluded, I need to corrupt her with my sick love of Full Moon Movies. Yeah Demonic Toys was cool, I'll have to watch that with my kids....................or not, on second thought. There still freaked out about the Killer Klowns from Outer Space thing I made them watch over a month ago, I think I'm a bad dad sometimes, but I think my children should be prepared to kick a clowns ass, I hate those pasty faced bastards! Oh yeah, Full Moon, great stuff.

Came across a cheap DVD at Shop Rite this weekend called "THE MIDNIGHT HORROR COLLECTION" - 8 movies for $4.99. Several Full Moons were included on it ("Demonic Toys," "Evil Bong" w/Tommy Chong, and I think one of the "Subspecies" flicks) along with some other low-budget slasher/trash flicks.
Sadly I was broke at the time but I MUST FUCKING OWN DEMONIC TOYS ON DVD so I buried that thing waaaaaay at the back of the rack and I hope it's still there next time I have an extra five bucks in my pocket.

I just busted out my Archives collection last night and watched Demonic Toys. Still a great movie. "Mother of Satan, could this be the end of fuckin Baby Oopsie Dasie?"
I really need to find Robot Jox on DVD, that's one of the only ones I don't have.

Robot Jox should be fairly easy to find, I got it on DVD about a year ago when the FYE up the road from my office was goin' out of business. I think I paid about ten bucks for it.

YEAH BOYEE! DEMONIC TOYS IS MINE Y'ALL!
Just picked up this beaut for a mere 4.99 at Shop-Rite:
EIGHT movies for five bucks! Can you beat that with a stick? I think not. And one of them is the legendary (well, at least to me and DeathCult) DEMONIC TOYS. Dude, that flick is worth the five bucks all by itself.
The other seven flicks are...
Prom Night (1980 original w/Jamie Lee Curtis)
The Legend of Sorrow Creek (? - no clue)
Below (horror flick set on a WWII submarine, seen the trailer for this one in the past and it looks pretty cool)
I Am Omega (The Asylum's ripoff of "I Am Legend," starring Mark Dacascos of "Iron Chef America" fame. Yes, really.)
Evil Bong (it's by Charles Band and it's got Tommy Chong in it, need I say more?)
Meridian (no clue?)
Decadent Evil (no clue again, but the artwork appears to indicate it's zombie related in some way. Or maybe it's just a Resident Evil ripoff. Either way, I'm cool with that.)
As Homer Simpson might say, "Looks like goooooood watchin'."

Yup, I saw that DVD you have in the store today. That's on my list to pick up at some point, but at the moment Demonic Toys took precedence
There are a crapload of those "Midnight Horror" comps on the shelf there, full of crap I've never heard of, but I wanna start checking'em out.
If I stack up enough of these collection DVDs I'll have enough material to do a couple of years worth of "It Came From the Bargain Bin" columns!

"BELOW" is a great flick, I've watched it a few times. Creepy and very well acted/directed.
