| The first 3/4 of 2009 was the absolute worst since the horrid 2006 (the year I was laid off from my very well paying corporate job)...but it ended on a positive note and I'm feeling confident for once. Since I'm prone to depression, self-doubt and general all-around anxiety, feeling confident is a nice change of pace. Hope you guys have a great year. | |

| It's been 4 years since my exile to AZ, and this has been the worst one. I held off moving back to Texas in the hope of getting an advanced position this year, but with the AZ state budget being screwed all to hell, that meant RIFs, salary freezes, and hiring freezes. I've already plateau-ed as far as my current position... I'm happy I have a job, but in order to move up, I am REALLY feeling the pressure to get out of here. I think when my lease is up, I will have to go through the fun filled experience of moving and job hunting again. The other hurdle for me was my surgery... recovery has taken a lot longer than I had thought. Surgery was at end of May and I am just now starting to feel the last of the pain go away. I haven't been able to work out in 8 months, and it is a really important aspect of my life for health and being an outlet to get rid of all the daily stresses... which of course were higher since I was pretty much in frequent pain everyday and kept worrying I would rip or reinjure something at woik. My main things for 2010 now are to get back in shape since my surgeon finally gave me the green light to go back to the gym, get my network certifications done, save money, and get the hell out of this crappy state | |

| 2009 was good but I'm finally out of my lyrical dry spell in 2010. I hope to have an album recorded this year *crosses fingers*.
I had a lot of shit going on in my head that I hope clears all out.

I had a lot of shit going on in my head that I hope clears all out. That sounds interesting bro, what is the subject matter and what style of music? I'd like to hear it sometime.

| I'd like to get a music project off the ground this year as well.
I'm looking into a Doom-Fusion band, mixing together droned/detuned type guitar riffs with modal-based avant-garde type jazz instrumental soloing over top. No vocals required.
I have a couple guitarists (including myself) and a saxophone player lined up so far. Now looking for a bassist (preferably stand up), a drummer and maybe another multi-instrumentalist (flute, violin, something like that).
A Hammond B3 player would make this a dream project.

That sounds interesting bro, what is the subject matter and what style of music? I'd like to hear it sometime. Well, lyrically I write about a lot of consiracy theories, politics, my relationship with God, eugenics, sci-fi, personality disorders, megalomaniac bosses, and a few love songs. Mustaine and Lynott are my biggest influences lyrically. Musically I want to do a John Mayer type album but I also have a Thrash project and an instrumental album too in which I want to have it be a cross between Satch, Vai, etc. and Russian Circles, something with kick ass riffs and rhythms and some lead phrasing a la Mike Campbell and solos but not the wankery. Musically I am influenced by Thrash, Blues, Flamenco, Classical, Jazz & Underground 70's Hard Rock, Metal and Proto Metal and Chicano Rock like Los Lobos and Santana.

Haha...I was wondering if you wrote stuff about the new world order and niberu(which I notice is in the avatar, nice!). I didnt know you were working on a thrash project also, thats rad man! I have a Thrash band that I have been working on for the last 4 or 5 months called blood covenant. We have lyrics about the NWO, Near death experience, dimensional travel, Sumerian history, christian themes, etc.

I write a lot about death and blood too, I also use end time prophecy themes in my lyrics.
