| In the last month: 1. Rush (74) 2. Steely Dan (73) 3. Yes (68) 4. maudlin of the Well (58) 5. Marillion (55) 6. Fates Warning (45) 7. Atheist (43) 8. Judas Priest (42) 9. Genesis (41) 10. Sieges Even (40) 11. Sortilège (36) 12. Peter Gabriel (32) 13. Wishbone Ash (32) 14. Camel (31) 15. Heir Apparent (29) The new Rush album really kicked them up higher than usual, as most of their albums have 6 or 7 songs a piece. They even kicked Steely Dan out of the top spot. | |

Yeah, that album has really dominated my listening for the past couple months. It also inspired me to re-watch the live DVDs I own (Exit Stage Left, Rush In Rio, R30, Snakes & Arrows: Live and Time Machine) which of course isn't reflected by Last.FM stats.

| I've been jamming a lot more Prog this month but it's been The Buena Vista Social Club and it's spin-offs that have dominated thus far in August. | |

They have the retro-prog thing down, yet they mix enough interesting elements together to achieve their own distinct approach.

| When I was younger I had to be in a specific mood for Hendrix...not any more, now I could play him at any time and enjoy it.
However, the stuff I listened to as a teenager I have to be in a very specific mood for. Perceptions shift as time passes.
