Oh hells yea. I always score when I go there. It's kinda outta the way and I'm lucky if I get there twice a year, so I always grab whatever I can cause I never know when I'll make it back. Or when they might go out of business. This time was no different.

Jeff Beck - Truth (remastered w/bonus tracks, replacing an old tape made from dad's vinyl 20 years ago)

Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine (Yea, thats right, Fiona Apple!)
Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys (replacing a cdr)
Cheap Trick - Lap of Luxury (replacing an long-gone tape)

All used, nothing more than $6. It made me happy to see that at 7:00 on a Sunday night, the store was bustling with customers. Not huge crowds or anything, but enough people in there looking and buying music to make me think some people still care.

Cool stuff! I'm lucky to live in a town that still has some thriving music stores. The one downtown stays so busy that it's almost impossible to find a parking space in the lot.

There is also a Metal CD store here in town (Encore Music), although I try to avoid unless I'm ready to spend at least $100 when I walk in there. Too damn tempting.

I try to buy CDs at these local shops before buying online, every little bit helps is my guess.

Last night I spent some cash on some Chinese takeout for the fam. Today, I spent money on completing my Bad Co. discog.

Their used to be at least 5 different used shops in Philly within a few miles of each other that I'd frequent on a regular basis. Only 1 remains and when George the owner dies, I'm pretty sure that shop is going down with him. And unfortunately, I haven't found anything good there in a long time. I've picked his cd section pretty clean. Noone is turning in new stuff anymore except for dvds. The shop is really small and he's just piling racks of dvds on top of the cds.

There is one other used shop downtown that I go to once in awhile, but it's always a hassle to find parking in the city. And even when I find a meter, it's always a race against time. Last time I went a coupla weeks ago, I got a parking ticket for parking in a bus zone. All the bargains I got were wiped clean with a $51 violation. Fuckers!!

Tunes is franchise of stores in the New Jersey area. I think there are 5 or 6 of them. I'm only familiar with the one in Turnersville. My brother-in-law lives down the road from there, so I try and make a stop whenever we visit them.
