We can't see the images because we aren't members of that bulletin board.

Well after hearing "Public Enemy No. 1" I'm pretty damn excited for this new record. The past couple have been good, but this sounds like it won't just be "louder, harder, faster" for metal's sake. Ellefson's return also makes a huge difference IMO.

Agree about the other Dave's return - the classic Megadeth sound has been the two Dave's with two other guys playing along

I can't put my finger on it, but yea, it just seems with Junior back in the band, all is right with the [Megadeth] world again.

Finally had the chance to hear the single "Public Enemy No. 1" cuz it hit iTunes today (and of course it then ended up on YouTube) ... sounds pretty bad ass to me
and here's a sneaky peek of another new track, "Sudden Death"
Sounds pretty bad-ass to me... November 1st is marked on my calendar...

Sudden Death is a song they made last year for a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game, I downloaded it from iTunes the day it came out.

This new album sounds really promising. I'm pretty excited about it, sounds like they returned to their more progressive thrash style ala Rust In Peace. Much better than all speed.

I'm digging the new album so far, but after listening to so much Megadeth in the last 2 weeks or so, I'm starting to see what you guys are saying about the drumming. Drover's not a bad drummer, but pretty boring style-wise. He has 2 speeds. Drum fast or drum faster. That's about it.

Still haven't picked this up yet, but I look forward to the weekend. EDIT:
Just snagged this, so far I only listened to first couple tracks, but it sounds great. A mix between what they've been doing over the past 4 records and the Countdown/Youthanasia era. Hopefully the whole album is as good as the first couple tracks.

So far, I'm really digging this. It's probably about even in the standings with Endgame. The aforementioned combination of their biggest selling sound with the speed of the last couple albums works really surprisingly well. The slower songs mainly take a hit because Dave's voice is too smurfing loud, and let's face it, he never could sing harmonies or anything. Ellefson being back on bass is definately a major plus. Sonically, it very well incorpartes the sound of the early to mid 90's era with the past 4 records quite well.
The only real thing that bugs me is on some of the slower tracks, Dave sounds out of place because well he never could sing harmonically(?) and his voice is insanely loud. Other then that, the only two tracks that haven't really grabbed me yet are "We The People" and "Guns, Drugs, Money" they both become a bit of a bore about mid way through.
As for the re-records, these versions are quite superior IMO. "New World Order" is just EPIC.
There are a couple instant 'Deth classics on hand as well in "Sudden Death", "Public Enemy No.1" and "Never Dead"
I also find it hilarious (but not surprising in the least) people are bitching about this on blogs already though. The same ones who thought Endgame was too much speed and no substance and were clamoring for a return to form seem to be pissed this calls on so many influences from the Countdown/Youthanasia. What a bunch of maroons

I dig the album a lot except for the 3 remakes, I like how Dave's voice is high in the mix this time around. Drover is still too automatic and so is Broderick, he's a tecnical beast and I'm glad he not so sweep heavy like he was on Endgame. This album has more versatility and I don't see how it sounds too forced like others are saying on the "other" board.

Been jamming a lot of Megs lately, they always seem to get me out of a creative rut.
