Cool story. I like he went directly to the co-head of the label to get approval to resign them. The Ertegun brothers signed some of the most important artists in music history to Atlantic. It was a different label in the 60s and 70s than what it became in the 80s.

Probably also important to note that the early AC/DC albums originally came out on the subsidiary label "Atco".
