| Both of those records are tops, IMO.
Been on an Alice Cooper kick lately...Killer, Billion Dollar Babies, School's Out & Love It To Death...never played these albums front to back til this year (just got Killer last week)...very cool stuff.

Yeah. Stay away from the vinyl reissues from a couple years ago though. They were really muddy sounding and the vinyl quality was terrible, I had to get 4 different copies of Puppets till I found one that didn't have a skip at the beginning of Disposable Heroes. For LPs I'll stick to either the original US releases or the Music For Nations versions. For CDs, the recent Japanese SHM-CD releases sound amazing. Death Magnetic is still distorted as hell, but that can't be fixed unless they do a complete remix of that record. At one time I had the stem files from Guitar Hero and I was going to remix the entire album. But I lost the stems in a hard drive crash, so I only have 1 remaining remixed song that I did. This wasn't completed either, I never got a chance to add any compression at all and it would sound a little better with some, but it's SO much better than the official release. You'll notice that I re-EQ'd the bass so it stood out from the guitars in the mix, Metallica always screwed up the EQ on the bass. On every album, it's like a disease. Here is my initial remix of "All Nightmare Long". I also intended to chop a section off the ending, but didn't get around to that either. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MHJLJZEI

| Well like I've said before, I like all the Mustaine era stuff and jam it often and the first two albums are KILLER!!! After that the next 2 were and still are redundant, MOP is still overrated to me and AJFA is just long for long's sake and takes away from an otherwise good album. TBA mostly sucked and oddly enough never really liked Met until Load/Reload b/c I liked Het's vox delivery and Kirk's solos were more creative as was the bass. I like St. Anger b/c Lars never sounded better technically and some of the one liners lyrically were kewl. DM is redundant as f**k! I want this though: | |

| Yeah Ride the Lightning looks way cooler with the green then the blue, it has a toxic look to it kinda like you after the little juan burritos with jalapenos. | |

| My best friend has an original green cover of Ride. It was originally just a pressing mistake on the first Music For Nations run (that was actually the version he had). They misinterpreted the color and it ended up green instead of blue.
They fixed it on the second run. Then it became a cult hit. Then they reissued it in green.
An odd world.

| Creative with the intention "for work". Writing as a work for hire is tough for me b/c I don't write radio friendly stuff that'll make me money... | |

| Find some good examples of what you "think" your target market is looking for, but stuff that doesn't make you physically ill. listen to a little bit of it to "get your bearings", then just let flow whatever comes naturally. Even if the initial ideas don't go anywhere, keep working on it in little bits and pieces.
If you get frustrated, just walk away for a couple hours, do something entirely different, take a walk, watch a movie, read a book...whatever.
Then when you're more in a the mindset, start the process over. Eventually stuff will come.
at least that's what I do.

| LOL. Well, writers block is kind of a personal thing, so you'll have to find your own "magic" for that. Separation and time are usually what it takes, just watch TV and absorb other creative media...eventually the block will go away.

| Yeah good advice, I'll read the lyrics of my main influences and watch my M*A*S*H* dvds, that always helps. | |

| I basically used "Bones" as my rest period stuff the past couple weeks. Get intense into working on stuff...then relax with a couple episodes of Brennan and Booth...then get back to work.

| I like the first 3 seasons the best, I wish Trapper woulda had more of a presence in the show like he was supposed to. B.J. is ok too, I really like the episode 'Welcome To Korea'. | |

| I don't think I've seen MASH in at least 20 years, but I know I saw every episode at least 3 times. Great show and a rite of passage for anyone growing up in the late 70's.

| Crazy my wife gets sick, so I get to leave work, watch and feed my kids and indulge in my childhood with He-man and the Masters of the Universe on NetFlix, sweet, and I get to do it again tomorrow. Reminiscing my childhood may become annoying to the wife soon, cause I keep seeing characters I had as toys as a kid and explaining them in detail to my wife how they worked and what was there fate, like my He-man figure who got his arm chewed off by the dog and I pulled it off and replaced it with Fakors blue arm. | |
