Ok well maybe it's not traditional prog, but here's some of my favorite avant garde/prog metal. If you like Voivod, you'll probably dig em.

An excellent tune from the Nude album.

I really need to pick up some Camel. I've got Mirage on my want list, it was recommended to me as one of the greatest prog records of all time, so I had to add it to my list at least.

Andy Ward is a very underrated drummer. Moonmadness will ALWAYS be my favorite Camel album and not just because it was the first one I bought. I had heard songs on the radio(yes, the actual airwaves... it was a Sunday night Prog program) and fell in love with it!

Starts off primarily a fusion tune, the prog rock starts around the 2:20 mark. Quite an impressive amount of jazz on display here.

Incredible album & band. If you dig Red, make sure to also get "Lark's Tongue In Aspic" and "Starless & Bible Black" both with the same lineup.

Today's Song
A great band, one of my favorite Prog groups.
In my opinion, the "Big Four" of Prog would be Yes, King Crimson, Van der Graaf Generator, and E.L.P.

Okay, I know. I've already had King Crimson on here before, but I don't care. King Crimson - Lizard

More Crimson is always good.
Never liked that ELP record though, just doesn't appeal to me.

Been on a Rush kick today. So, today's song is:
Rush - Cygnus X-1: Books One and Two
Someone put together both Cygnus songs on YouTube, and I felt like posting.
And on another note, what are your favorite progressive rock long tracks?

Great live clip of Camel performing excerpts from "The Snow Goose" live on the Old Grey Whistle Test, 1975.

I used to own that Fates Warning album, haven't heard it since the late 90's. Thanks for the reminder.
