I always just thought that they were just a pop band until I dug deeper. In my mellotron phase they were a no-brainer to listen to.

Kansas seems to be one of those bands where the live versions outperform the studio versions. They weren't afraid to tinker with the arrangements.

That's a good point chewie, as much as I don't really care for live albums per se I realize Prog and Jazz are the kind of stuff a person needs to hear live.
