Heard half the new Overkill album today. Was so impressed I ordered it.
As for our anniversary trip, we had difficulties with Spotify so we couldn't listen to any Opeth (I had left behind my Heritage CD). But we did play Steven Wilson's Raven album. She really enjoyed it. Also Warlock and Kobra & the Lotus since she wanted to check out some female-fronted bands. On the way back we heard Mumford & Sons. She loves them but they seem just a little pre-packaged to me.
We only listened to music between home and the 118. Between Anaheim and the 118 I prefer to keep things quiet in order to focus in the sea of traffic.

Indeed, I'm making a NWOBHM comp right now actually.

Various songs from all things Scott 'Wino' Weinrich. Great Renaissance album, Shawn.

ZZ Top meets Ted Nugent but without the killer quirkiness that early ZZ Top boated not the frothy BS of Uncle Ted. I pretty much got tired of all things Southern Rock with the exception of a few songs by ABB, Blackfoot, Point Blank, Doc Holliday, and Grinderswitch but it's rare I jam them. Ultra's lone album is the only one I really listen to with any sort of regularity.

Some of that late 90s Magna Carta Label neo-prog.
That Ultra album is killer!!!!

Joe, do you feel that that Ultra album is culled from different sessions for at least two albums thrown into one album? I feel that way not due to the album length but some songs seem heavier and more raw and that's a common thing for bands in the '70s; the debut would be raw and heavy but the 2nd album would be more polished, subdued and poppy. With Ultra some songs sound more "Southern" and polished. I wish I knew more about that album.

If I remember correctly, the album is a compilation(I could be wrong, it's been a while.). I used to go to the original vendor site and it had a different cover.

Yeah! I just read the bio as well and on the "Press/Reviews" part I read where there were all culled from sessions during '75-'77. It's still a good album throughout but I really dig tracks 1-5;8 the best. Thx for looking into it man. There's a lot of great twin leads on that album.
