a month since leaving Heart Of Metal...

...and I haven't missed a damn thing. I've stopped in a couple times just to read through some threads and yep...it's exactly the same tired, boring shit that it has been for the past few years. There are no new discussions, it's just retreads of the same discussions over and over and over and over again.

I'm not sure why I stuck around as long as I did.

I cant believe it's been a month but yeah, I'd post there a little more in the last few months cuz cats like you, Chewie and Met were there but anything I said was never really noticed anyway and that's ok but my points were just as valid but I'm glad people are back at The Workshop.

That "Painkiller" yutz has been providing a much needed dose of unintentional comedy there of late. Haha

It's a little stale over there for some reason, an occasional post of interest here and there. But I am getting sick of hearing about genre wars and Queensryche. From my observation those seem to be the two most important topics on HOM.

Painkiller was funny at first but now I just want his douche ass kicked. Witchfinder did that fairly well haha.

Yeah, The Stupid is rapidly achieving Critical Mass up in there this weekend. Between Painkiller and Vexer6 it's like a roomful of monkeys flinging poo at each other.

Looks like Painkiller took a swift, silent exit. Thank God.

If only Vexer would follow him out the door.

The big plot twist of Vexer's asberger's...which, yes, could be bullshit...does shed some light on his vehemently stubborn posts and how they worsen in tact and logic. Also says why he's so confrontational. So that I can understand, to some extent at least. But Painkiller? He made his agenda clear from the beginning and it's clear he's just another bullheaded, arrogant, macho metalhead. I highly doubt there's a personality disorder going on there.

I still don't miss it.

BTW thanks for the Tull intro on Spotify! I'm gonna take a deep listen with the headphones tonight. I like what I sampled already, much different than what I expected.

I think Painkiller was too stupid to be a true elitist.   

Cool about the Jethro Tull...Stand Up is the album that initially ignited my passion for Jethro Tull, which has continued unabated for the past 25 years.

Stand Up was very good. A bit scattershot and somewhat unfocused, but enjoyable nonetheless. Kept me coming back for revisits. That flute work is crazy! Favorites are For a Thousand Mothers and Driving Song. I may do a track-by-track write up if I find the time. Ready for the next album.

Seriously who gives a fuck what "nu metal" really means?  

At some point you realize there are really only about 10 topics that get repeated over and over. Same thing happened on an old jazz board I joined in like 2003. The first couple years were cool, lots of discussions, good atmosphere. But after awhile you kind of talk about most of the available topics, then it ventures into more esoteric topics, people get snippy, arguments become the norm and then it's dead. I'm still a member of that board, I pop in about once a week, post in the movie thread and log out.

Yeah it gets a bit abysmal. I like it when different bands are being discussed the most. This last genre war I involved myself in was only because I get sick of the sophomoric quasi-philosophy that grunge a). had no metal bands and b). was the day rock music died. It's as thought you're not a metalhead if you don't adhere to these two parameters. Please.
